Installing the Reader

Extract the contents of the downloaded archive, replacing the filename below with the location of the downloaded archive:
tar -xzf ~/Desktop/striata-reader-2.11-1.tar.gz -
Install the reader application files and register MIME associations:
cd striata-reader
sudo ./install.sh
cd ..
rm -rf striata-reader
Using the Striata Reader
Depending on your configuration there are 3 options for launching the Striata Reader:

Simply click on any .emc file to launch the reader.
There is also the option of launching the Striata Reader from the desktop application menu,
this will prompt for a valid .emc document. -
Run the Striata Reader from the command line:
striata-reader -
If you require command-line only operation, use the command-line reader: "striata-readerc". For example:
striata-readerc ~/Desktop/MyStatement.emc
By default, this application will extract the contents of the encrypted document into the current working directory.
For instructions on changing this behaviour via the command-line, and other useful options, run with no command-line arguments:
striata-readerc
