Welcome to another exciting issue of Signature. We may be emerging from a cold winter, but at Diners Club we have been far too busy to go into hibernation.
Before I tell you what’s in store for this issue, I would like to say how very proud I am that Diners Club South Africa has been honoured with the title of Best Franchise for Europe, the Middle East and Africa by Diners Club International. This recognition would not have been possible without our members’ support and loyalty. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for helping to keep the South African flag flying proudly, reminding our global partners that we are indeed an internationally competitive country.
If you’re experiencing wanderlust, turn to our travel section, where we spend 48 hours exploring the modern metropolises of Singapore and Dallas, and the ancient but up-and-coming city of Istanbul. For those who prefer a quiet country escape, we head for the Cederberg with its abundant wildlife and star-washed night skies. If wine is more to your taste, connoisseur Richard Holmes will introduce you to the fine varietals of the Napa Valley in California. Closer to home, it’s been another great year for our Winelist Awards, with MasterChef SA judge and Tsogo Sun celebrity chef Benny Masekwameng (profiled in this issue) on the judging panel.
On the golfing front, the regional qualifying rounds of the prestigious Diners Club International Pro-Am Classic tournament were a great success and we congratulate our local winners, who will team up at the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa from 17 to 21 November to represent South Africa in the finals.
From cars to competitions, sunglasses to sports, prominent people to property tips, this issue of Signature has everything you need to get set for summer.
Enjoy your journey.
