WELCOME TO OUR NEW NEWSLETTER
As the new Director, Corporate Division of Diners Club South Africa, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you - our corporate clients. With this introduction comes the launch of our new Corporate eNewsletter – a vehicle through which to share information and updates with clients every second month.

I come into Diners Club with a wealth of experience from the financial services sector having worked for Citigroup, Kworum Capital and lately Standard Bank.

You may by now have noticed the new and improved Diners Club corporate branding: Enabling solutions is the new company slogan for the Diners Club corporate division with the corporate colour having changed from navy blue to black. We believe that these changes further emphasise that our Corporate and Air Travel Card products are up-to-date, current and are addressing the needs of a changing market.

The aim was to differentiate more distinctly between our personal and corporate card offerings, each being distinct products administered and marketed by two separate teams within Diners Club, and aimed at two different markets. With this in mind we have designed a new corporate advertising campaign which will feature in various business publications in 2007. The consistent theme which runs throughout the campaign relates to Diners Club’s understanding regarding the management of travel and entertainment expenses by their corporate clients. Diners Club is committed to superior customer service and its corporate offering is designed with the business traveler in mind, enabling solutions, irrespective of whether you are a corporate executive or single entrepreneur.

This Corporate eNewsletter will provide Diners Club with a channel to communicate directly with our clients and provide information on any services or product enhancements that we have on offer. It will provide clients with industry news and significant industry trends occurring in the corporate card market; and it will serve as a platform for you to ask us questions or voice concerns.

Diners Club should be the automatic corporate choice in simplifying travel and entertainment requirements and I look forward to leading this division into 2007.

Diners Club Advantage… A new way of doing Business

What better way to substantiate our new positioning of Enabling solutions by providing our clients with a seamless and “live” answer – Diners Club Advantage.

Diners Club Advantage is an online business services application that will allow Corporate and Air Travel Card users to access and view their statements online at any time. Clients now have a convenient management tool, and can keep up to date with transactions being made on any day, and at any time as the data is uploaded nightly. This not only allows a more effective method to manage expense levels, but also allows reconciliations to be processed timeously. The application also allows different user levels to be specified, increasing the flexibility and restriction of user access.

Diners Club believes that this application will offer our clients convenience, improved efficiency and increased user flexibility and restriction. Diners Club Advantage is a stand alone application and any information that is affected on the system will not change or alter the information that is recorded at Diners Club, making it a secure system that cannot be tampered with.

Diners Club Advantage is a user-friendly system which also offers electronic expense claim forms and the current management information reports in electronic format.

Initially, Diners Club will provide administrator access to corporate clients who will then set up and manage their users themselves.

Diners Club Advantage will be available to all of our clients as an additional value added benefit. Committed to superior customer service and designed with the business traveler in mind, this service is ensuring that Diners Club stays at the cutting edge of the corporate card industry in South Africa.

Winelist Awards - winners announced
Diners Club International invited all licensed restaurants across South Africa to take part in these prestigious Awards. The Awards, which are aimed at encouraging food and wine-serving establishments to consistently improve the standards of wine lists on offer, have always been held in high esteem by both the restaurant and wine industry.

Through their submission, entrants were considered for a Gold Award, Platinum Award and the cream of the crop earned “The Award of Excellence”.

New and Improved Email statements and CSV
We have recently improved the appearance and format of our email statements and have automated the download of CSV files making them more user-friendly. CSV is a powerful programme which downloads financial data directly from Diners Club onto your company's excel spreadsheets or integrates it into an accounting software package. Capturing time and errors are both significantly reduced, and accuracy of information is assured.

If you currently do not receive your statement via email or if you would like to receive CSV files, please click on the picture opposite and follow the online prompts.

During the transition period between phasing out the old statements and introducing the new CSV files, a parallel run has had to be implemented. Clients will be receiving two sets of email/ CSV statements/files for all accounts for the months of November, December and January. This is in order to ensure that no information is missed due to the transition. Should clients notice any differences between the statements in these two different formats, please alert us to this immediately.
Improved Travel Insurance benefits
Diners Club International continues to offer travellers one of the most comprehensive travel insurance packages available.

The Automatic cover for Emergency Medical Expenses and Assistance and Personal Accident is included each time you purchase your travel ticket. Phase II cover is available for both local and international trips, ensuring that you are covered for almost any unfortunate eventuality

MasterCard Alliance
Due to an alliance between Diners Club and MasterCard in North America, more than five million merchant locations in the United States and Canada now welcome the Diners Club card. In order to visually support MasterCard acceptance in the North American merchant network, Diners Club has started issuing cards with the MasterCard logo printed on the back of the card. This new alliance will further expand the options available to your employees who hold Diners Club Corporate Cards and who travel to North America.

It is important to note that this change only impacts merchants in the United States and Canada. Outside of the United States and Canada, Diners Club cards will continue to be accepted in the existing Diners Club network of merchants.

If you have not received a card with the new MasterCard logo on the back and you or any of your employees are likely to travel to North America in the near future, please contact Diners Club so that we can arrange to have a new card delivered to you. Please allow for a two week period for the ordering of the card and delivery.
