Each year millions are lost due to
fraudulent card activity. It is our intention to help you
minimize your risk of fraud.
Below are some guidelines:
- There should be a distinctive world map background on
the front of the card
- Check that the back of the card shows a Diners Club
hologram
- The card number must be repeated on the signature panel
on the back of the card
- A three digit C.V.V number should appear on the signature
panel on the back of the card
- Check that the card number on the face of the card matches
the last four card numbers on the back of the card
You should also ensure that you:
- Check the expiry date, the condition of the embossed
characters (no smudging etc) and that the Card number,
CVV number and our logo are clearly printed on the white
strip
- Never hand over goods purchased with a Diners Club Personal
Card to a customer who cannot produce the Card;
- Request ID and check that the date of birth matches
the estimated age of the Cardholder;
- Check that the number on the Card is the same as that
on the slip;
- If the member disputes the charge, Diners Club will
request the signed billing form or Credit Card Charge
Form (CCCF) for proof of transaction. However, typed or
handwritten Card details are not proof that the Card was
used. Ideally, you should make and file an imprint of
the member's Card after each transaction to prove that
the Card was present at the time of the transaction.
